New Emergency Orders by Austin-Travis County Health Department

November 11, 2020 - Dr. Mark Escott, the Interim Medical Director & Health Authority for the Austin-Travis County Health Department in conjunction with Mayor Adler from the City of Austin has issued new emergency precautionary orders related to health and safety procedures now required for COVID-19 through December 31, 2020.

Emergency rules have been extended by Dr Escott to promote health and safety.  They can be summarized as:
  • Face coverings must be worn in a manner that covers the nose and mouth by all citizens in public;
  • Social distancing of 6 feet must be observed;
  • Individual groups/tables and/or gatherings of people are limited to 10 or less in venues or public settings;
  • If a member of a household is positive or waiting on the results of a COVID-19 test, the entire household should isolate.
