First off, I would like to welcome everyone who is visiting from all over. Come on down to Mozart’s, sit back, relax and enjoy one of our signature mocha specials. There are many wonderful options for it, my personal favorite is the butterscotch special. We also have our SXSW blend for sale so you can bring home a little piece of Mozart’s to your friends or family.
I am please to announce, starting this year we will have our very own unofficial SXSW showcases. They will be starting Monday and continuing till next Sunday. I am so very excited to be putting all of this together and would love to see each and everyone of you. There is no cover for any of our shows but we encourage you all to support the artists and drink lots of coffee. Remember, there is no wristbands, press badges or tickets required here. Heck, you dont even have to wait in a super long line.

First off, we would like to thank each and everyone of you for making Mozart’s your go to holiday spot. We hope to see all of you next year! Seeing the joy that the light show brought all of you brought joy to us. I went and found a few light show pictures that I would like to share with all of you. Remember, if you have any great pictures that you got during show, share them at our website so we can add them to slide show.
We are looking to make Mozart’s a happening spot during SXSW. We will be doing different showcases and hopefully some art shows. Keep posted for more news when it comes up. If you are in band, play an instrument,or maybe you just sing, send us a message on our facebook. We can try to get you a show during here at Mozart’s during SXSW.
Before I go, I have one last bit of good news. Starting next week, my good friend and fellow co-worker at Mozart’s; Jenna will be writing the blog every other week. It will be a nice and refreshing change with a new take on things.

Man, it sure got cold today. Well have no fear, we have our long sleeve shirts in now. They come in an assortment of colors and are perfect for those chilly nights that are sure to come up. You can find those in our Merch section which is to the left when you walk in.
Looking for a gift for friend, family or loved one? We have plenty of great options here at Mozart’s! For the college students, we have toddy brewers and Aero press coffee makers so they can make coffee in their own dorm. You can even buy any of the flavor syrups we have to make your coffees at home extra tasty.
For the parents we have our Mozart’s travel mugs and ceramic mugs. We also have our shirts, hoodies, long sleeve shirts and hats. The beanies work wonders in this cold weather. Remember if you can’t decide on a gift we also have our gift cards. They could make a great gift for your friends or as a stocking stuffer. For your kids we are have Santa hats and lighted Santa hats for sale. We also are featuring a lovely Christmas book “When Angels Sing” by Turk Pipkin a local Austin author. It’s a great read and would make a great holiday gift. If you would like a copy just ask any of our cashiers and they will help you.
In other news, Mozart’s was featured on the local news for our light show. Thanks to each and every one of you who comes out each night for our shows. They are so much fun and a great place to take your families. It’s also the perfect place to take a date. You can enjoy one of our specialty hot cocoas and check out the light show.

So start thinking of good ideas for pictures now and remember, there is no fee for any entries. Once again a big thank you to all who have come to our light show this past week. I love seeing everyone’s faces when they light up when the show starts. To all who haven’t made it out yet, you are missing out. I know, I know, it’s super chilly out but the view of the lake combined with lights at end of night is just breathtaking. So get bundled up,grab your friends, enjoy one of our signature hot cocoas(my favorite is after dinner mint) and enjoy the show. For all you spicy lovers out there, we will start having our Red Hot Apple Ciders. That is apple cider with the Red Hot candy in it and is another great way to warm yourself up on these chilly nights.
Do you just love our cakes and cheesecakes? Maybe you just want to send one to a loved one or family? Just in time for the holidays we have made it easier to order cheesecakes, flour cakes and bread loafs. Its very easy to fill out and takes no time at all. Thanks to everyone who came by this weekend, it was busy and we loved seeing each and everyone of your faces. Remember, when it is busy on weekend and you dont want to wait in the long line, we have our outdoor bar open all day. They can make all your favorite drinks, as well as provide you with pastries, cheesecake on a stick, and our tasty quiche.
So for the past few weeks I have been researching all i can about the production, distribution and culture of coffee. Good news everyone, just in time for fall we have gotten in our delicious apple cider. Its perfect for those fall nights on the lake and goes great with some caramel in it! We have also recently gotten in from Teo, the scrumptious Pumpkin Pie gelato. I had the pleasure of trying some yesterday and fell in love with it.
We decided for the bios this week to highlight Andra Nickerson and Alex Swenson
This is Andra. Andra is one our many lovely morning baristas. She is always up bright and early to make people’s mornings with her great service and her delicious lattes. Andra moved down from Olympia, Washington in October of 2012 and will be attending UT in spring to study nutrition. She has been a barista for 6 years and loves making coffee. On her days off she likes hiking, swimming, biking and going to shows. Her favorite drink to get is a tie between a dirty chai or a hazelnut cinnamon mocha. “I’m a cat loving, thrift shopping vegan”-Andra
Hey everyone, this is Alex! Alex is always in a good mood and will always do what it takes to make your day. He moved down here with me in March and has been working hard to put smiles on your faces ever since. Back in Washington he has 2 wonderful sisters, Rose and Sarah and his talented father, Paul. In his spare time he likes to play guitar and write music. Whether it be alone or with others, he loves playing music. He is also a former culinary student and he loves baking food. He is currently playing in a band called Team 2nd Place, you can check them out at team2ndplace.bandcamp.com. If you ever wanna talk about music, he is your guy. Just look for the super tall guy with a red baseball cap! I am proud to say he is my best friend and a wonderful employee. Try one of his delicious Mochas!
